Dentheria is in upheaval. Forces within and without batter against the empire. Countries want to shed Dentherion rule. Aquatheerdaal, the power source for all modern tech, has been depleted by generations of mining. When the supply crashes, so, too, does the tech that relies on it--and that, in turn, affects the countries on the continents of Pelthine, Theyndora and Siindernorth. Syndicates and rebellions see opportunity for political power, and the commoner is caught between them and the frantic rulers who do not want to give up their thrones.

Lapis and her companions arrive on its soil just as the heat turns up high enough to shatter the bonds holding the empire together. They must rescue the captured khentuaree, then return to Jilvayna and help their country weather the vicious storms.
